SECOND-LINE SWAGGER
Rolling street beats, strutting bass lines, and a crowd that keeps growing behind the band. Grab a friend. Fall in. Follow the horns.
Springfield, Massachusetts
Dirty grooves. Heavy horns. Second-line swagger.
A party you can hear coming.
01 / The sound
The bounce of a New Orleans second line, a low brass groove, and horns that cut through the noise. A little rough around the edges. Built to move a crowd.
Rolling street beats, strutting bass lines, and a crowd that keeps growing behind the band. Grab a friend. Fall in. Follow the horns.
Punchy horn lines, a heavy low end, and funk that gets under your skin. New Orleans flavor with the volume, grit, and swagger to own the room.
Jazz, blues, and a touch of gospel give the sound its roots. We bring the feeling, then put a little dirt on it.
02 / Your event
For a crowd that came to have a good time.
Let’s plan your eventMake the entrance everybody remembers
Kick off the celebration with a second line, make a big entrance, or send the whole party out behind the horns. Your guests become part of the action.
Big sound. Street-party spirit.
Put some swagger in your parade and some heat on your festival stage. Marching, roaming, or holding down a set, we bring the crowd into it.
Your occasion. Our kind of soul.
From a packed private party to a meaningful celebration of life, we shape the sound, pace, and lineup around the occasion. The music follows your lead.
03 / Our roots
Deep roots. A mean streak in the sound.
Led by Adam Lyon, the bandleader behind The Oompa Meisters, Blacktop Brass takes its cues from New Orleans street bands: loose, gritty, full of soul, and ready to turn a gathering into a party.
We’re based in Springfield, Massachusetts, bringing that spirit to New England and New York. Swagger in the music. Care in the details. We work with you on the lineup, timing, and feel of the event.
